A while back my friend Gary Sommerfeld suggested that we in Spencer & Vogel cover John Mayer's "Your Body Is a Wonderland". As I looked at the song I realized that it was played in the key of C in drop D tuning (I have always played songs with drop D tuning in the key of D!) I loved the concept and wondered what a song would sound like in the key of G in drop D tuning. This song came to me almost immediately as I played through some chord changes in this configuration . . .

Lyrics
1. Thinkin' 'bout you and me and all them chickens for free
Well I could cut some and you could baste 'em
And we could barbecue in the old barrel by the back tree
CHORUS: Oh, time. Oh, years. Oh, joy and tears.
Look what we've done!
2. Thinkin' 'bout you and me and all them childrens for free
Well we could make some and we could raise 'em
And you could make 'em clothes and comb their hair nicely.
#2 CHORUS: Oh, time. Oh, years. Oh, joy and tears.
Look what . . .
BRIDGE: This is good. This is life. This is love. This is time.
This is good. This is life. This is love. This is time.
3. Thinkin' 'bout you and me and all them friends for free
We could count some and we could have fun
We could call 'em up and sit around merrily.
CHORUS: Oh, time. Oh, years. Oh, joy and tears.
Look what we've done!
